Styling and style

AN ENGLISHMAN IN NEW YORK

Brooklyn-based stylist and creative director Greg Chapman has his feet firmly rooted in British style.

When it comes to shoes, Greg Chapman knows what he’s talking about. A Manchester-born stylist and creative director with over thirty years of industry experience, he spent much of the Nineties sourcing rare deadstock sneakers for cult London stores like Jones and Browns. After stints at iconic fashion labels on both sides the Atlantic, ranging from Schott Perfecto to Urban Outfitters to Fred Perry, he’s now a busy Brooklyn-based freelancer, with an Instagram account that regularly celebrates his passion for footwear. And whilst he’s become a street-style favourite of late thanks to his distinctive workwear-inspired aesthetic, we were thrilled to see him celebrating a more dandy aspect of his style recently — wearing Donhall & Bell’s Mayfair Hurlingham, an embroidered slipper in plush burgundy velvet.
